In Norse mythology, there are nine great realms residing within the cosmic Tree of Life. One of these realms is Jotunheim, home to a race of beings called the jotnar, or "giants." The giants are primordial, powerful forces of nature through which the very cosmos came into being. They are older than the gods, and possessors of wisdom that even Odin and the other gods had to approach them for.

Anyone who is a little familiar with the Norse myths may perceive the giants as the "bad guys," or enemies of the gods. For this class and meditation, Sean will be explaining why that isn't true; how the giants and gods often work together for the grand cosmic scheme, how many gods have even taken giants for spouses, and that the Viking people of old honored the giants too as essential forces of nature in their day-to-day lives.
