Mediumship is a skill that some people are born with, while others develop it.

Most people are born with some level of ability to communicate with others through the veil.  

Often times when we are children we have our "imaginary" friend that others cannot see, but in truth the imaginary friend is a loved one from the other side.  Yet because the adults in our life aren't able to see them, they think we are imagining it.

Then there is the reality that if you are gifted as a child it can be scary, so once again we tend to turn down or turn off those skills we are born into whether it be due to fear or judgement.
