The Founder of Reiki

Updated: Jul 26, 2023

Dr. Mikao Usui is the founder of Reiki having discovered it following a 21 day Tendai Buddhist ritual meditative fast. Dr. Usui was a well educated man, having spent many years traveling throughout the world including, China, America and Europe studying medicine, Buddhism, scriptures, psychology, divination and several other wonderful subjects. Dr. Usui studied martial arts, and another healing technique called kiko, (similar to qigon) before discovering Reiki. Dr. Usui eventually passed away March 9th, 1926. But his legacy lives on to this very day.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is successfully used in more than 70 hospital programs right here in the United States with clearly documented studies of it's beneficial results, as well as many more hospitals and medical facilities worldwide.

What is Reiki? The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words; Rei which translates to "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power: and Ki which translates into "life force energy". Reiki itself is a Japanese technique used to enhance healing of the physical body, as well as the emotional, mental and spiritual realms or state of the body. Reiki is used frequently for stress reduction, relaxation, serenity, well-being, self-esteem, and for faster recovery from illness or injury. Reiki seems to have no limits to the possibilities and positive results attained by a person receiving Reiki treatments. Reiki is a natural and safe method of energy healing which has vastly beneficial effects on it's recipients. It works in conjunction with any medical treatment or therapeutic treatments as a phenomenal compliment to promote recovery. While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is by no means any sort of religion. People from all walks of life with or without a practicing faith come to Reiki for it's deep beneficial results.
